Bahini Educare Foundation (BEF) is a grassroots organization based in Kaski, Nepal, working to protect, empower, and uplift vulnerable women and children through education, protection, psychosocial care, health support and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Since 2014, BEF has worked closely with single mothers, adolescent girls, and children living in difficult and often invisible circumstances — families affected by poverty, abandonment, violence, social exclusion, unsafe migration and exploitation. Our work is rooted in the belief that every woman and every child deserve safety, opportunity, and the chance to build a secure future.
Across many communities in Nepal, especially in rural and marginalized areas, women and girls continue to face deep inequality and limited access to education, healthcare, economic opportunity, and protection. Many children remain at risk of school dropout, child marriage, trafficking, abuse and emotional neglect. Families living in urban slums, temporary shelters, or isolated settlements often struggle without stable support systems or access to essential services.
These realities continue to shape our mission and strengthen our commitment to creating long-term, community-based solutions that protect families while empowering them toward independence and inclusion.

A Nepal where every woman and child can live with dignity, safety, equality, and opportunity.

Our Approach
At BEF, we believe meaningful change happens when families are supported as a whole. Instead of separating children from their mothers, we work to strengthen families within their own communities by addressing the interconnected challenges they face.
Our work combines immediate humanitarian support with long-term empowerment. Through compassionate care, education, protection, counselling, and economic strengthening, we help families move from crisis toward stability and self-reliance.
Our approach is community-centered, family-focused, and grounded in dignity and inclusion.

The EduCare Family Program
The EduCare Family Program is the heart of BEF's work and reflects our holistic approach to family empowerment and protection. The program supports vulnerable mothers and daughters through integrated services that promote safety, well-being, education, emotional resilience, and sustainable futures. Key areas of support include:
- Education assistance and school continuity
- Nutritious food and hygiene support
- Child and maternal healthcare
- Emotional and psychosocial counselling
- Life skills and financial literacy
- Livelihood and entrepreneurship guidance
- Child protection and trafficking prevention
- Home visits and ongoing family support
By strengthening mothers and protecting children together, we create environments where families can heal, grow, and regain confidence in their future.

Education for Protection and Empowerment
Education is one of the strongest tools for breaking cycles of poverty, exploitation and inequality. BEF places special emphasis on supporting girls from underprivileged and excluded communities, where educational opportunities are often limited.
Through educational support, mentoring, school reintegration and life skills development, we help children continue their studies in safe and supportive environments. We also work closely with families and schools to encourage long-term educational participation and prevent dropout.
For many girls, education becomes more than learning — it becomes protection, confidence, independence, and hope.

Health & Psychosocial Well-being
Many women and children who come to BEF have experienced trauma, loss, abandonment, violence, social isolation or extreme economic stress. Emotional well-being is therefore an essential part of our work.
BEF provides psychosocial care through counselling, emotional support, follow-up visits, group sessions and referrals to trusted partners when needed. We create safe spaces where women and girls can speak openly, rebuild confidence and regain emotional strength.
Alongside mental and emotional support, we also promote family health and well-being through healthcare access, hygiene awareness, maternal and child health support, emergency assistance, and preventive care.
We believe healing and empowerment must happen together.

Sustainable Futures & Social Empowerment
At BEF, sustainability means more than short-term relief. Our goal is to help women and families build stable, independent and socially secure futures.
Through livelihood development initiatives, financial literacy, entrepreneurship guidance, vocational skills support and community mentoring, we encourage women to become economically empowered and socially confident. We support mothers in exploring income-generating opportunities that strengthen family stability and reduce vulnerability to exploitation and unsafe migration.
We believe sustainable change happens when women are not only supported financially, but also valued socially, emotionally, and culturally.
By investing in education, confidence-building, protection, and livelihood pathways, we help create long-term resilience for future generations.

BEF conducts community awareness activities, educational sessions, family monitoring and preventive interventions focused on child protection, gender-based violence, menstrual dignity, safe migration, and personal safety awareness.
We work closely with mothers, adolescents, schools, and local communities to promote safer environments where children can grow without fear and women can live with dignity and respect.
